Residency Programs
The residency allow Wendell and group to spend time with students to iron out different issues that often comes up in performing jazz. It involves learning the role of a rhythm section as well as improvising. A one on one relationship with the students is established for an extended period of time developing refining performance skills.

Jazz Improvisation
The improvisation workshop deals with constructing be bop and post be bop Ideas on standards and originals,written by great jazz composers. The methodology used will be taken from the Be Bopper Method Book, authored by Wendell Harrison. Also, Wendell's band will accommodate the players that's participating in the workshop, providing rhythm section support when needed. Improvisation is the key element that makes jazz unique and distinguish its from other forms of music.

Clarinet workshops
Wendell Harrison's Mama's Licking Stick Clarinet ensemble workshop focuses on the clarity, timber as well as enormous range of the clarinet, the instrument of Jazz. The ensemble includes contra bass, bass, alto, Bb and Eb soprano clarinets. Mama's Licking Stick celebrates original compositions of Wendell Harrison and other master composers such as, Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, just name few. The clarinet master class demonstrates the facility and phasing displayed in a jazz performance.

Jazz Education Concerts
This presentation is targeted for elementary and middle schools as an introduction to Jazz. Harrison and his ensemble exemplify various historic prolific Jazz composers, also a demonstration of instruments is included. A conscious illumination of America jazz history, focusing on a chronology of events that put jazz artists and their music into the fabric of American culture.
